I am a litigation-focused trial attorney who approaches each case with dedication, compassion, and educated strategy. I recognize that most of the time someone calls me for help, it is because their life has been turned upside down in some way. Though there are no guaranteed results in the law, my goal is to provide prepared, communicative, and effective advocacy in every case—advocacy you can depend on when your life is in turmoil.
The bulk of my experience is in criminal defense, where I defend individuals facing a variety of charges, from speeding tickets to serious criminal charges including high-level felonies, OVI/DUI, domestic violence, and firearm charges. I take each case seriously, preparing for litigation while keeping my client’s stated goals in mind and maintaining direct communication throughout the pendency of their case. I understand that no matter what is on the line—from a driver’s license suspension to decades in prison—my clients need someone they can trust to be honest with them and fight tirelessly for them every step of the way.
I also represent individuals in post-conviction matters, including appeals and wrongful conviction cases. While in law school, I worked for the Ohio Innocence Project, seeking justice and freedom for individuals who had been wrongfully convicted. You can watch a short film about a case I successfully worked on here. I know that each post-conviction case requires a deep dive into the history of a case and often occurs year later, creating unique obstacles for post-conviction truth-seekers. I bring an investigative mind and a dedication to justice to these complicated cases.
I am a Cincinnati native, earning both my undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to law school, I worked for many years at the public library, where I helped to lead educational groups in the Hamilton County Jail designed to connect incarcerated people with resources that would help them be successful when they returned to the community. In law school, I took advantage of the experiential opportunities that got me into courtrooms and prisons early in my legal career, such as the Ohio Innocence Project and the Indigent Defense Clinic, in which I was able to represent individuals charged with misdemeanors while still in law school. These experiences showcase what drives me: a deep commitment to justice, a recognition of the need for zealous advocacy, and the personal knowledge of what individuals face when they become enmired in the legal system.
